Whiskers came to us on Oct. 11, 2003. She had been given up to the Park Rapids Humane Society and had been advertised for adoption for many months. Nancy and I dropped in to see her one day. Her birthday was in June of 1995 so she is a senior citizen. Apparently she had been an only cat because she is very private and likes to watch other cats but doesn’t really interact with them.
Whiskers likes to sit on the window sill by our front door. This gives her a good vantage point from which to see the comings and goings of everyone. Since Whiskers is a small cat she is the only one who can squeeze between the railings to reach the window sill.
Our lower level has become her domain. The other cats can enter but sometimes Whiskers will run up to them as if to say, "This is my area." Whiskers weight varies between 8 and 9 pounds. Her last physical indicated the start of kidney disease so we have her on a special diet. Whiskers is a picky eater and likes to munch on food all during the day. We think this is because during the long time she was at the humane society she always had food available in her cage. Thus she could eat a little bit many times during the day.
String theory is one of Whiskers area of expertise. She spends many hours studying all aspects of string theory. Recently she was awarded the Order of the String for her work in developing superstring theory.
